Water Valey MS May 27th (1860 above because ran out of room) My Dear Eliza, As Im very lonly today I thought I would write you a few lines and let you know that Im well at pressent and I hope this may find you all the same/ I have not recievd an anser to that letter yet that I wrote last Sunday in Holly Springs/ I would like to here from you all so very much how you all are/ I have bin here in this plase over two weeks and I could not get off to go to Holly Springs to day/ this plase is fifty miles South of Holly Springs but if you write direct your letter to Holly Springs and I will get them/ The wether has bin purty warm here the last weeke but I think I can stand it very well/ we will soon have some ripe Peachis here and plndy of them and I have eate som ripe blackberys to day and thay are plenty here and I have seen ripe wattermalons last night but dit no get any of them/ it is a very plessent plase here where I m/thair is the nicest kind of springs all around us here and good watter better than I expected to find in Mississippi and the people are all few frandly here/ my worch is not hard as I have writen to you in my last letter/ I think I can stand it firstrate if I dont have to doo then I have don s far I dont know any thing more to write at pre f sent only tell the children that thay must be good and mind what you say to them and that God may keepe us all in all his ways and that we may all meet all to gether again is my prayer your affectionate Husband J.
