Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends. quot; Keith Emerson; Emerson, Lake amp; Palmer We extend to you an enthusiastic welcome to Willamette University x27;s never-ending show: our traditional Freshman Glee. For the past sixty-eight years the Willamette community has sponsored this event, providing an occasion for students, faculty and alumni to come together. It is our fondest wish that this year x27;s Glee will continue this unique tradition and be beneficial for the continuance of harmony throughout the University. It is our hope that this 1975 Freshman Glee will be a never- ending memory for those of you here with us, this evening. The Class of Nineteen-hundred and seventy-eight The Class of Seventy-eight wishes to honor a man who has served the Willamette Community for over sixty years and still continues to do so. He has been the leading authority on Glee and his contributions to this tradition are unmatched. Since this is the very first Glee to be held in his center, and for his continuing enthusiasm and support for the students of Willamette University, we dedicate our Glee to Mr. Leslie J. Sparks. - quot; quot; Freshman Glee 75 e ,a Willamette University, April 5, 1975 8:00 p.m. Judges and Judging For the purpose of judging, the elements of competition in Freshman Glee are divided into three categories. Gregg The garbage men are striking The garbage I x27;m not liking, It x27;s sitting in the hallway and creating quite a stink. The streets aren x27;t safe at night Con Ed turned off my lights I think I x27;ll head down to the bar and get something to drink. Chorus I x27;ve been pushed into a corner I x27;ve been beaten to the ground Oh, it x27;s hard to keep on smiling With these troubles all around; I can x27;t hold them off no more They x27;re breaking down the door, It doesn x27;t look like there x27;s much hope And I think I x27;m at the end of my rope. My creditors still hound me, My ex-wife has just found me She x27;s looking for the money that the judge told me to pay: How can I say quot;It x27;s gone quot; To the old Nevada con? I lost it all in Reno In two nights and a day. CHORUS INTERLUDE My horoscope is lousy My upper teeth are fake, The IRS just phoned I owe them three times what I make. My boss thinks that I x27;m lazy I x27;ve clogged the kitchen drain, My psychiatrist says I x27;m crazy He can x27;t seem to help my brain. There x27;s panic down on Wall Street I can x27;t afford to buy meat, The cat got all my goldfish So I had cat stew for lunch; These times, there x27;s so much to them I hope that I live through them, To you, O World of Wonders I just say . . . thanks a bunch.
