Camp Bethel Tennesee January 18th /63 Dear Eliza I thought I would write you a few lines once more that I am well and I hope this may find you all the same/ I have not got a letter from you for a month/ I am very anguse to here from you/ we are having some winter here now/ the fore part of last week it commenced to rain and rained two days very hard and then it turned in to snow and snowed about 3 ingis deep and turned very cold/ to day it is warm and the snow is going away very fast wich makes it very mudy/ thair is nothing new going on here now as I know of/ we are wanting to here some news very much/ we cant get any pabers to read and most any thing weould doo us now/ I wish this war would come to an end so I could go home/ I am geting tierd of it/ not that I have a hard time of it for I have easy times and don t have to be exposed/ I am in bet evry night and not much to doo in day time/ I have a great reason to be thankful that I am so fortuneate/ Mr Pease is looking for Mrs Pease to come down here as soon as the road is open again/ when she comes you can sent me something good to eat and a letter from the children/ I would like to here from them and if thay are good and obedient and kind to each other I will sent them a Paber such as we get from our chaplin to read/ we have not bin Pait off yet and I dont know when we shel be and the talk is now when we get pait it will only be for two months/ so we wont get much/ so no more at pressent Your affectionate Husband J.
