Camp Bethel Tennesee Dec 14th 1862 Dear Eliza I thaught I would write you a few lines that I am well at pressent and I hope this may find you the same/ I have bin looking for a letter from you but in vain/ I doo not know what is the reason why you don t write to me/ this is now the thaird letter that I have writen since you have writen/ I would like to know if you have got that muny from Tom White yet and that ten dollars from Mrs Pease/ I begin to think you will be wanting som muny before long/ thair is some talk of us giting pait off by the tenth of next month/ I hope it will be so for thair is a gread many that is in nead of muny to sent to thair fammilys/ I know nothing new to write at pressent as thair has nothing occurred here since I have last writen to you/ I have just returned from Church/ we have now preching evry sunday and prayer meeting in the evning and prayer meeting on wensday evnings and always crowdet/ thair is a gread ele of interest taken in these meetings/ I go whenever I can and injoy them very much, your affectionate Husband J.
