Louiville Dec 31st 1869 Mr. Wilbur Dear Bro. I have received your letters of Nov. 30th and Dec. 11th I wrote you in August answering your letter and waited until I became satisfied you had failed to receive it then I wrote again stating what seemed best and enclosed a few lines from Judge Scoval which you can see for yourself and an other letter enclosing Doras and Frankies Rede In relation to the question about Susans wishes in regard to Mr Clarks family I intend to carry them out just as she wished it for we appreciate his kindness and efforts in Susans behaf. We think the house and lot and land better not be sold now. In regard to paying Miss Yale you cand o as you think best we understand Susans and Doras business affairs with her just as you do and if it will be less trouble to send the money to me I am willing to serve the parties. We wish Mr Clark to retain whatever Susan was owing him and what she wished his children to have. I have always wished Miss Yale to have what George wished her to have and if the Estate had failed I should have paid her out of my own property for I feel toward her as I do to a daughter. I wish you would call at the Office of the Pacific Advocate and pay them out of the money that is in Oregon and tell them they need not send the paper any more and also collect rents and pay my other bills that may be there. The box of things that was Susans that is at Mr Clarks better be sent as soon as soon as will be convenient You may as well take out twenty dollars ( 20) and, pay to the M.E. Church, in Corvallis as Susan requested. David Waters
