William Roberts as Agent lent Mr Miney in the Summer or Spring of 1857 to build Portland Academy to the Amount of 2,000 for which I gave my note to Harley McDonlad amp; Co. understood from Coffin, Lonsdale amp; Chapman at the time the Contract was made with Said Company to build the Academy that the premices Near the Methodist Parsonage then occupied by J.H. Wilbur might be transfered by Wilbur to Said Company and they agreed to make the title good to Said Company. the transfer was made with the Knowledge and Consent of the Proprietors Mcdonell. Says he went with Coffin amp; Lonsdale to see Blocks that had been given to build Congregational Church where Piltine New lines that he went with Said proprietors and they pointed out to him the block on which the Famali Line was to be built and the Block annelly in the near that was given to build the academy with as the Block was given for the building of the Congregational Church
