Holly Springs    MS         May 5th 1860  Dear Eliza  I arrivd in Holly Springs last night at 12 oclock all well and Safe and I hope this may find you the Same/ I shell go to worch next munday for Mr. Wallis in the Shop/ I could have got five or Six jobs  right away to worch/ thair is plen ty of worch here to do and I m bording at my old bording plase/ Rose dit not come down with  me/ Betz went and tooke his chest from him So he could not go along and I Send his Note back to Kell  Illinois  by John Mcdannel for I dit not now whether he was comming or not/ I thaught that the weather would be a gread ele warmer here then it is at pressent/ it is not warmer then it was  before I stardit from home/ but the time to be alredy a month since I laft home/ I know nothing more to write at pressent (prefsent) only that God may keep us all in his care and give the children all a cis for me  your affectionate Husband J.
