Paducah Ky April 27th/65 Dear Eliza I have bin looking for a letter from you for som time and so I thought I would write and let you know that I am well and I hope this may find you the same the cake you sent was very nice indeet I wish I could hom home and get some more I was in hopes that the Regement would be Paid off before this one then I would try and com home but we have not bin paid off get and dont know when we will be I wish I had knowen that Brewer has gone home I would have sent som things home with him I dit not sent the box I said in my last letter I was going to sent I thought I would get a chance to com myself with them the River has bin very high again almost as high as it was when Frank was hear but it is faling again the Regement has gone out to camp thay have a very nice camp I have bin purting up quarters for them for the for the last three days Capt Lockwood has bein very sick but is better again thair is a gread ele of the sore throat around I had it for a few days but I am all right again I know of nothing more perticular to write at pressent so I will close this time hoping to hear from you soon and give my love to all your affectionate husband J G Burggraf write soon
