This indenture made the second day of March AD 1876, by and between James T Cooper and Harnett Cooper his wife of Douglas County in the  State of Oregon of the first part and James H. Wilbur of Fort Simcoe in the Territory of Washington of the second part: Withnesseth: that the parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of four thousand 4,000 dollars gold coin of the United States to them in hand paid by the party of the second part at or about the insealing of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do bargain sell and convey unto the party of the second  part his heirs and assigns forever all of the following described premises  situated in Douglas County in the State of Oregon.
