Age Minimums in the Sport of Women's Artistic Gymnastics

(7 Willamette Sports L.J. 73 (2010)). In 2009, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) took on the task of age verification for gymnasts. This article analyzes the use of minimum age requirements in women’s artistic gymnastics, including the need for an age requirement. The article further discusses methods of enforcing the minimum age.
