dc.description.abstract(7 Willamette Sports L.J. 32 (2009)). This article considers the potential civil liability of sports officials, in actions brought by players, coaches, spectators, and other parties. The article surveys cases and available protections, primarily statutory, with particular attention to New Jersey laws on the issue. The article also covers other protections, including general volunteer statutes, common law defenses, exculpatory agreements, and higher insurance coverage.en_US
