Louiville 23rd 1869 Dear Brother Wilbur I have been waiting a long time for an answer to my last letter but have concluded it may be you have not received it. Judge Scoral thinks that you would be safe of settling Frankres share as long as Sucane had no demands against her at the time she was taken sick and you know she had many enough to pay her sickness and burial expenses a great times over. and Doras and his childs death before Susans death places the remainder of her property in the hands of her legal heir, the same as though she had no will but if you think you are not cafe we shall try, to conform to your wishes as near as we can. I inclose a statement of what Mr C.P. Scovil the Surrogate thinks could be a propper course which would if it was necessary, to appoint an Administrator here but it would delay the time and increase the expense. I wish you would give me an answer as soon as you can. I intend to carry out Susans wishes that she expressed before her death in regard to her property as near as I can. We feel the losses in the family to be very severe we mean to be cheerful and resigned under the providence of God and think we can say thy will be done and hope it will bring us nearer the Saviour. The Children and myself send much love to yourself and wife. We are all pretty well. We have left the farm and are living near Mr Batchelors they all seem well. D Waters
