Like Natalie Ball's quilted and painted textile assemblage, this cap combines diverse media; in this case, the elements are traditional tule fiber twining and beaded wool patches. While the original weaver's explanation was never recorded, this cap suggests a story of creative resilience to the pressures of time.Oregon/CaliforniaImage4.5" x 7" x 7"BasketryTule culm, dyed tule culm base, nettle, buckskin, cotton string, wool cloth, beadFor use information see: http://www.willamette.edu/arts/hfma/collections/copyright.htmlWoman's Cap
