He attended McNary High School and studied at Oregon College of Education (now Western Oregon University), where his instructors included Larry Stobie. His work is represented by the PDX Gallery in Portland and is in the collections of the Portland Art Museum and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York.
