Burns, Simone "Ae"2026-05-112026-05-112026https://hdl.handle.net/10177/41495Nana’s Tale is the 40 page picture book dummy focusing on the way the people in our life, stories, and art make us who we are. Nana’s Tale is heavily inspired by the people and stories I have loved throughout my life who made me who I am. Nana’s story has been told over and over again, shifting and growing, until it comes to life when they return to the shop. The tree starts given first by the Shoeless Crone to Nana and then to Beck by kind of both the Shoeless Crone and Nana since Nana brought her there, grow and become their own organisms, bearing fruit that can be eaten and shared. These and other elements reflect the ways family, community, and stories shape us. I’ve focused on creating a strong foundation to build off of in the future, with the overall flow and story being more important than anything else.digital, Photoshop, painted paper collage, acrylic, colored pencil, watercolor crayon, acrylic gouache, printouts from the 406 production printer that I worked back into physically, watercolorpicture book, kidlit, mixed media, family, community, storytellingAe Burns 2026.
