Léon-Victor Dupré (French, 1816–1879)2022-07-162022-07-16OXN55.04https://hdl.handle.net/10177/20388Victor Dupré studied with his older brother Jules Dupré, the well-known Barbizon School painter. Both are known for their romantic landscapes in which nature and human habitation are blended in a unified scene. In this way their work is similar in approach to that of John Constable in England. Although Victor’s work is generally eclipsed by his brother’s, he is a recognized painter in his own right, and his work is included in the collections of various European art museums including the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.Image29.5" x 35"PaintingOil on panelFor use information see: http://www.willamette.edu/arts/hfma/collections/copyright.htmlLandscape with Cows
