Their basketry arts rely on split tules, canes, and nettles, reflecting the lake and marsh environment. This particular basket is made using traditional Klamath-Modoc techniques and materials, yet its shape and design elements suggest the influence of Columbia River Plateau basketry traditions, thus providing evidence of aesthetic influences shared across a wide geographical area.Oregon/CaliforniaImage3.5" x 4" x 3.5"BasketryTule cordage, split tule stem, split mud dyed rushFor use information see: http://www.willamette.edu/arts/hfma/collections/copyright.htmlBasket
