local.transcription | Camp Bethel Tennessee March the 1st 1863 Dear Eliza I thought I would write you a few lines that I am well and I hope this may find you all the same/ Mr. Brewer is starding home this morning/ I wish I could go with him/ I have not much time to write as it is most train time/ Mrs Welmon is going with him and will bring you this letter I have not seen her she was at Henderson 15 miles morth of us Allicks company is thair Mrs. Pease has not enjoyed herself very much since she came down here/ the wether has bin so wet it has rained most every day and Jenny was sick so she osuld not get out of the cabin until the last 3 days it has bin plessent and Jenny well again/ Mrs Pease will not come home till after pay day that will be in about ten days if thay don’t miss it again/ thair is nothing new going on here now, I have not got a letter from Margrat yet, your affectionate Husband J. G. Burggraf I will write more another time) |
