Description

Retiring from teaching in 1965, Constance Fowler left Michigan and returned to Oregon, where she settled in Seal Rock on the coast. In response to the beach environment, she used painterly abstraction to suggest the patterns of sand, tide pools, and wetlands in such works as Low Tide.
