local.transcription | Bethel Tenn Nov 9th 1862 Dear Eliza I thought I would write you a few lines that I am well and I hope this may find you all the same/ Mrs. Pease arrived heare last evening/ I was very glad to see her and the cake and butter was very nice/ indeete I wish so much that you could be here too/ Mrs Pease thinks wee are all fixt so comfartable here most too mush so to stay heare long/ Frank has a good time/ I think after Mrs Pease gets back home again I will have to sent for you to come down here/ Col Pease says he will give up his bet to you when you come here if I can find out that we will stay here this winter I will send for you/ I have just returned from Jurch/ we had two splandit sermons here today/ we will have preaching hear evry Sunday if the wether permits/ thair is nothing new going on at pressent heare/ as I know of no more at pressent Your affectionate Husband J.
