| local.transcription | Camp Bethel Tennessee Febuary 2nd 1863 Dear Eliza I thought I would write you a few lines as I have an oppertunity to sent hoping this may find you all well as this leaves me/ I pait Twenty Dollers to Col Pease which you will get of Mrs Pease or Miss Edson if Mrs Pease Should not be at home/ Mrs. Pease wrote to Col Pease that goods is geting very high and still on the rise if so perhaps you had beter get what things you nead ahead if you have any muny to spare/ I think I shel get som more muny soon/ thair is som talk of us geting pait for the next four months in a week or two and then I shel get som extry pay wich I will sent as soon as I have an oppetunity/ I wish I could bring it myself/ I sopose times must be geting very hard/ evry thing geting so high/ I would like very much to here from Margrat and her husband and the children/ I must close as I dont know what to write this time/ I will write more the next time your affectionate Husband J.
