dc.descriptionBorn in Spokane, Washington, Kenneth Callahan was a self- taught artist known for his abstractions based on the natural forms of the Pacific Northwest. He was a curator at the Seattle Art Museum in the period 1933-1953. He exhibited his work widely and is represented in numerous collections, including those of Brooklyn Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Corcoran Gallery, Detroit Institute of the Arts, and the Museum of Modern Art.
