Description
Giant in Trouble' shows a recurring figure in McLarty's art--a bloated giant seemingly bent on destruction. At the same time, his paintings convey a frightful gaiety as, in this work, the giant is overwhelmed by acrobatic figures and forms, whimsical helicopters and airplanes, and animals suggestive of the pottery that the McLartys collected during their many trips to Mexico.
